There's nothing like a good C4 preset that sounds just like a classic synth.  Mark Neary has captured the 80s synth bass-style sound as performed by Bob Christianson on Chaka Khan's hit "What Cha Gonna Do For Me".  He gets razor-close with our pedal, utilizing a sine + saw wave combo, some mild distortion, and a 2-pole lowpass filter on the sine oscillator.  Hear it for yourself!  @markneary1, thanks for putting this video together.  Sounds great in a studio mix!

Thank you Mr Neary firstly for showing that surprisingly convincing synth bass tones can be crafted and performed using the C4 and especially for sharing them. Such things are subjective of course but it’s hard to argue with songs found to resonate so widely. It’s hard to argue with hits and the talent of those who created them.
It’s refreshing to me that these presents demonstrate useful potential as opposed to silly extremes.

I currently use an analog, modular approach to synth on electric bass and with great results. I suspect that I will continue to employ this method because I love it, the journey has been fun and these beautiful boxes are tactile little things that I adore.
That said your use of the C4 has genuinely impressed me and I’m very excited. I plan to augment my synth board containing only specific, well loved pedals with a C4 and probably the peripherals to control it live.

I’m sure I will be leaning heavily on your contributions to the SA community as I lack expertise in the digital realm and I utterly lack patience.

Thanks so much man and keep up the good work! E.
