Our weekly roundup of exciting new One Series pedal presets created by the Neuro Community
|
Welcome to the lastest episode of This Week in Neuro, a weekly roundup of Neuro presets published for our One Series pedals. The week of June 29 through July 8 (actually it's a little more than a week) saw the creation of 52 new published presets. The graphic below has a breakdown of the top-5 One Series pedals in the category of preset activity. This week the C4 Synth has seen the most activity with 18 new published presets.
Click the "Read More" button below to hear sound samples or our Preset Picks for this week. This week we're focusing on some interesting presets from @bwondrak, @flip362, and @chrisgvitar. "Fireworks" - Created @bwondrak - Ventris Dual Reverb
This is a fun preset that @bwondrak published and posted on his Instagram for the 4th of July. When using the Ventris' Shimmer engine it's possible to set the function of the OPTION footswitch to sustain the reverb trail and cause the pitch to either rise or fall. The "Fireworks" preset creates that "rocket's red glare" effect by dropping the pitch of the Shimmer trail. God Bless America! @bwondrak also recorded an excellent clip of the "Fireworks" preset - enjoy!
"Minor Pulse" - Created by @flip362 - C4 Synth & Ultrawave
This is actually a dual pedal preset published by one of our past Featured Neuro Artists, @flip362. Click this link to learn more about our Featured Neuro Artist program - our Featured Artists win free pedals. :-) @flip362's true identity is Sean Folk. Sean used the C4 Synth's Harmonization feature to create beautiful synth chords with single note picking. He then added the Ultrawave Multiband Processor to give the tone a bit of muscular overdrive as well as a nice pulsing quality via the Ultrawave's tremolo capabilities. Sean recorded the clip below to showcase the preset.
"Maleficent Microwave" - Created by @bwondrak - C4 Synth
It's another excellent preset by @bwondrak (Hint: if you haven't noticed, recording cool clips to showcase your published presets is a great way to get it featured in our "This Week in Neuro" roundup - for instructions on how to embed clips in your published presets, watch this demo video). This C4 Synth preset combines a pair of square wave synth oscillators with an octave fuzz and a single peak filter to create a nasty synth tone. The CONTROL 1 knob is assigned the DRIVE level of the fuzz and CONTROL 2 is assigned to the Q of the filter - you will hear in the video that both knobs have a dramatic effect of the overall character of the preset.
"Pad Bliss" - Created by @chrisgvitar - Collider Delay+Reverb
The Collider Delay+Reverb and the Ventris Dual Reverb are both great tools for creating ambient chord pads. This preset created by @chrisgvitar created some really animated chord pads by adding some nice modulation to the Swell Reverb engine and combining it with an Analog Delay engine with the TIME control set very high for near maximum separation. Pushing up the TIME control is a nice way of prolonging the delay to a point well after the initial chord swell to add a sweet bit of motion as the chord sustains. @chrisgvitar described the preset as follows: "Pad Bliss creates a dramatic blooming swell, enhancing stereo presence and ending with a dark brodding, ambient tail. Vangelis meets Eno." We had a great time recording the sound clip for this preset.
That's it for now - huge thanks to everybody that created some new sounds for us to explore. We're always on the lookout for cool new presets, so keep publishing those One Series pedal presets and don't forget to embed sound clips! See you next week.
