Hey everybody, we're back!  It's been a busy month of gearing up for the holidays, putting our ears to the grindstone at the lab, testing new pedals, and continuing to adjust to the "new normal."  That's why it feels great to be back in the data analysis game talking presets and Neuro-related achievements.  We have a great smattering of presets to dive into this week, and some inflated numbers from our time off.  

Welcome to Spooky Month, A.K.A. October!  We're excited to be back with a new installment of This Week in Neuro, the one place to chat presets, sound creation, pedals, and tons of other neat stuff.  This week, we're taking another two-week chunk for that sweet, sweet data.  I also have another Lunchtime Banter segment for y'all (or, depending on where you're from,  youse, you guys, you lot, everybody) today. 

We've got a spot of housekeeping to take care of as well; skip to the last paragraph of this entry to read about our saga with Neuro and Windows 7 and why we suddenly can't fully support Neuro on that platform anymore. 

Welcome back to the place where we talk about all things presets and all things tone, with some general Source Audio tidbits sprinkled in.  Our office has been buzzing the last couple of weeks with the fervor of new pedals and exciting ideas.  That's right, the lab is brimming with new ideas...we're mixing chemicals with reckless abandon, uncovering ancient artifacts, learning how covalent bonds work...

Just kidding.  Well, not about the upcoming new gear, but none of us actually work in a chemical lab or in archaeology.   Let's talk about the preset! 

For the third week in a row, the C4 Synth takes the #1 "Most Published" spot effortlessly.  In a distant second places the Ventris, the OG of the in-depth preset creation game.  As my sentimental favorite Neuro-equipped pedal, it's always uplifting to see it still holding its own coming up on five years after its release. 

For fourth place, there was actually a four-way tie: the Nemesis Delay, Lunar Phaser, Ultrawave, and Ultrawave Bass all came in with 6 presets a piece under this span.  How I like to approach tiebreakers in this circumstance is with recency bias; the pedal or pedals with the most recent preset gets the top spot.  

The average new daily new Neuro users has steadily improved since last installation as well!  Last update, we calculated an average of 23 new users per day.  Over this 18-day span, 490 new users signed up for Neuro, leaving us with an average of 27-28 new users each day.  Welcome aboard, new Neuro users, and thanks for discovering Source Audio!  Continue reading to hear about the Top 5 Editor's Picks of the week, and hear some really fantastic preset clips.

We're back with another supersized installment of This Week In Neuro to make up for that good ol' summertime haze we've all been finding ourselves in.  Here in Boston, we're enjoying the features of a nice early-August heatwave.  It's not freaking us out, although we'd like to remind everybody to be constantly sipping on some water (or in my case, Topo Chico...can't get enough of that fizzy stuff!) and be taking some shade breaks if you're out in the elements.

July is not typically a big month for effects pedal preset creation - the warm weather tends to lure many musicians out into the great outdoors. That said, we did see a nice amount of Neuro activity this week and we heard some great new presets.
