Blog: Navigating the Neuro Desktop Editor
We are very proud to finally introduce the Neuro Desktop Editor. The Desktop Editor is the Windows and Mac extension of our Neuro Mobile App, an excellent tool for creating and organizing highly customized presets for all of your One Series pedals. The Neuro Desktop Editor is compatible with the Nemesis Delay, Ventris Dual Reverb, L.A. Lady Overdrive, Kingmaker Fuzz, AfterShock Bass Distortion Lunar Phaser, Mercury Flanger, Gemini Chorus, and Vertigo Tremolo. Compatibility with the Neuro Hub is still in development and will be rolled out sometime in 2018.
To download the Desktop Editor, go to the Downloads page on the Source Audio website. On this page you’ll find downloads for both Mac and Windows PCs. After the download process, connect your Source Audio pedal using a USB Type A male to mini Type B male cable (Warning: don’t use a charger cable). Connect the cable from the mini USB port on the pedal to the USB port on your computer. Once you’ve done that a blue box will appear in the Connections field (on the left side) indicating which pedal has been connected.
So how does it work?
To download the Desktop Editor, go to the Downloads page on the Source Audio website. On this page you’ll find downloads for both Mac and Windows PCs. Once you’ve done that a blue box will appear in the Connections field (on the left side) indicating which pedal has been connected.
So how does it work?
Connections:
The Connections section is located on the left side of the Neuro Desktop Editor (ND). This section will display all of the pedals that are connected to the computer’s USB ports. Each connected pedal has three options:
- Firmware Updates: Click the box with the arrow icon to check for any recent firmware updates to the connected pedal. If an update is available, the software will provide instructions on how to proceed.
- Hardware Option: Click the box with the gear icon to open the Hardware Options (Global) window. Each Source Audio pedal has its own set of global hardware settings. The attached pedal will retain all hardware option edits until either the option is de-selected or a Factory Reset is performed.
- Open Editing Interface: Click the wrench icon to open the connected pedal’s editing controls in the center field.
Editing Tabs:
After a clicking the Open Editing Interface button (wrench icon) for any of the pedals displayed in the Connections section, the editing interface will appear in a tab in the center field. This is where all of the sound editing work takes place. Click the links below for step-by-step instructions on how to use the Sound Editor for each One Series pedal:

Presets:
The Presets section is located on the right side of the Desktop interface. There you will find a list of all the presets and empty preset positions available in the connected pedal. The Presets section is also where you Save, Import, and Export presets. All of the Preset option controls and fields are listed below.
Save As Button: After creating a new preset hit the Save As button and you will be prompted to name it and select the preset or effect selector position to which it will be saved.
Save Button: If you have made edits to a preset that was previously saved to one of the preset or effect selector positions, use the Save button to update the preset without changing its name or preset position.
Import Button: Presets can be saved as .pre files and stored anywhere on your computer. Specify a folder to store your presets and use the Import button to upload them to your Neuro Desktop Editor. When you hit the Import button you will be asked to find the .pre file, from there just need to select the file and Open it. If you want to check out presets created by other Nemesis owners, go to our Neuro Collective page and click the download button on any of the Neuro Community’s growing preset library.
Export Button: If you want to save a preset on your computer or share it with other musician, hit the Export button. A window will pop up, asking you to name, tag, and select a location for the preset – it will be saved as a .pre file. After the preset is saved, the .pre file can be shared via email or any other common file sharing method.You can also post your preset to our Neuro Collective page and share it with the rest of the growing Neuro Community. To do that, export your preset, and then email the .pre file to yourself as an attachment. Open the email on your phone and open the .pre file with the Neuro Mobile App. Save the preset in the Neuro App. and then go to the User tab of the Browse Sounds page. Slide the preset to the left and hit the Publish button. Done.
Refresh Button: Hit the Refresh button to restore the Neuro Desktop Edits to the state immediately after your last save procedure.
Hardware Presets: This is where all of your pedal presets are listed. Use the Save As button to select where you would like to store your edited preset - you can choose from any of the 128 preset positions or the 12 Effect Selector knob positions on the Nemesis Delay. If you’re using one of the single switch One Series pedals like the L.A. Lady Overdrive or AfterShock Bass Distortion, save your preset to one of the 6 toggle switch positions.
