Here it is, the official Source Audio demo of the Atlas Compressor. We sat down with Source Audio President Roger Smith and SA engineers Jesse Remignanti, Bob Chidlaw, and Christopher Venter (also the owner and sole engineer at SHOE Pedals) to discuss the engineering and inspiration behind the many compressor options available in the Atlas. This ambitious compressor pedal offers a comprehensive collection of compression circuits that perfectly capture the tone and feel of the industry’s most sought-after compressors, ranging from classic stompbox compressors like the now-discontinued Diamond Optical Compressor to high-end rack units such as the snappy 1176 compressor and the smooth and gentle LA2A optical compressor. The vides also explores the advantages of the Dual Band Compression as well as the additional free compressor circuits available in the Neuro Editor. Neuro compressors include sounds based on the Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer, the Dyna Comp, and many more.
Also, big THANKS to Dan King (he played many of the guitar clips in this video) and the rest of our friends at The Music Emporium in Lexington, MA for letting us record some clips in their amazing guitar store in Lexington, Massachusetts. Also, thank you to Paul Candilore, Niko Pappas, and Phil Cambra for playing additional guitar clips in this video.

The Atlas Compressor with BASS!!! |
The Atlas Compressor makes it easy to transform the pedal into a bass guitar specific compression machine. With the push of a button, you can convert all six of Atlas’ onboard factory presets into low-end responsive compression engines, precisely optimized for the complexities of the bass guitar. Out of the box, the Atlas features six different compression types including sounds inspired by classic studio rack gear like the 1176 FET Compressor and the LA2A Optical Compressor. It also has includes compression based on iconic pedals like the Dan Armstrong Orange Squeezer, the Dyna Comp, and the Diamond Optical Compressor. This video contains the thinking behind Atlas' compressor circuits when optimized for bass as well as some fantastic bass playing from our friend Jesse Williams (the bassist for The North Mississippi Allstars).
