Boost vs. Overdrive Pedals: Rhett Talks About the Advantages of Using the ZIO Front End + Boost to Dirty Up His Tone.

Rhett is a tone connoisseur... for sure. In this video he describes the advantages of using a boost pedal in favor of an overdrive pedal to add some additional grit to his guitar tone. Some more fantastic guitar playing from Rhett Shull. This time Rhett shows how to get all the tones you need out one amplifier. He starts by explaining the value of developing an understanding of the basic functions of your amp, then moves on to the best practices in using fuzz, overdrive, reverb, delay and tremolo pedals. He also demonstrates how you might use the ZIO Analog Front End + Boost's E-PLEX preamp circuit (based on a vintage Echoplex preamp) to naturally overdrive an amplifier. The ZIO section of the video starts at 11:07. As usual, Rhett picks some great gear and achieve some killer guitar tones.
