Enter the "Neuro Cover Song Challenge" and Win a Source Audio Pedal of Your Choice and a C4 T-Shirt
We realize that a ton of you are stuck at home for a little while. We're right there with you, the coronavirus has profoundly affected us all in one way or another and the majority of the Source Audio staff have set up shop at home. Well, here is a way to break up the monotony of shelter in place - let's create some killer presets with our One Series pedals. We're calling it the "Neuro Cover Song Challenge." Just to clarify, we've got nothing against all you sonic explorers who create fantastic original presets, but this challenge focuses on cover songs and the presets that make them great. Here is how it goes:
So that's how it works. We can't wait to hear the sound y'all create! Most of all, have fun and stay healthy!!
- Choose a song to cover: Pick a song that has a guitar, bass, or keyboard sound that you love. Just in case you don't know, a cover song is your version of a popular song written and recorded by another artist. Yes, we know... "popular" is a relative term, but you get the idea. :-)
- Create a preset: Dive into the Neuro Desktop Editor, Neuro Mobile App or the controls on the face of the pedal and dial a sound that closely resembles the guitar, bass, or keyboard line you're trying to replicate. Go ahead and tackle just one sound or a whole suite of sounds from the song - it's up to you. Feel free to use multiple Source Audio pedals along with gear from other cool pedal companies to achieve your sound.
- Save and Publish the Preset: Use the Neuro Desktop Editor or Neuro Mobile App to Save and Publish the preset so that the rest of us can check out the sound you've created.
- Record a clip and embed it in your Published Neuro Preset: You'll notice that when you publish a preset in the Neuro Editor there is an option to embed a YouTube or SoundCloud link - use that link to embed a sound clip that you've recorded. There is also an option to record directly into the phone when you publish the preset. We're going to leave things pretty wide open when it comes to videos/sound clips - feel free to record the entire song or just a single guitar, bass, or keyboard track from the tune. Watch the video below for instructions on publishing presets with YouTube or SoundCloud links in the listing.
- Tag It: Use the hashtag "#neurocoverchallenge" in the Neuro Preset description. We also encourage you to post your clips on Instagram and Facebook - please tag us at @sourceaudio. And don't forget to include the #neurocoverchallenge hashtag in your social media post so that everybody can find it.
- Win a pedal and/or C4 Synth T-Shirt and get featured on our website and social media: Throughout the challenge we'll feature some cool entries. At the end of the April, we'll give away pedals to some of our favorites! We also plan to give away limited edition C4 Synth t-shirts to a bunch of participants (see the photo below for a look at the C4 Synth t-shirts). We'll announce the pedal winners at 12 noon EST on Tuesday, April 28 on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
So that's how it works. We can't wait to hear the sound y'all create! Most of all, have fun and stay healthy!!
