David Ryan Harris
David Ryan Harris is an exceptional singer songwriter whose career has taken quite a few interesting turns. After the breakup of his 80s heavy rock band Follow For Now, David released his 1997 self-titled titled debut. It was a far-reaching record with tinges of R&B, funk, and psychedelia all tied together with David's outstanding singing and songwriting. According to David the album enjoyed relatively modest success, but one of the people who bought the record was a young guitar student at Berklee College of Music named John Mayer. It was Mayer's enthusiasm for this record combined with David's guitar and vocal talents that eventually led him to join the ranks of Pino Palladino and Steve Jordan in Mayer's touring band. In addition to working with Mayer, David has produced and shared the stage with a wide range or artists including Dave Matthews, Santana, Tedeschi Trucks Band, Alicia Keys, and Dionne Farris to name a few.
We couldn't be happier to include David on our list of musicians using Source Audio pedals. We heard reports of the Collider Delay+Reverb, True Spring Reverb and ZIO Analog Front End+Boost showing up on his board during John Mayer's 2022 Sob Rock Tour. After a quick Google search we found this very interesting homemade video during the construction period of David's pedalboard. At the time of this video, David talks about using the Collider's Analog delay (based on the EHX Memory Man) combined with its Plate reverb as an "always on" setting.

So that is the current pedalboard, but let's take a little time to enjoy some excellent footage from some recent David Ryan Harris solo performances. The first video is a David Ryan Harris and Scary Pockets appearance at The Troubadour in West Hollywood California. And look at that... ikt features some killer guitar playing from our man John Mayer.

Here's one more. This is a super-exciting performance of the song, "Yesterday Shutting Down" with some excellent guitar playing from David himself at about the mid-point of the tune.
