Soulive and Umphrey’s McGee Using Hot Hand

One of the coolest current live bands, Soulive, is using Hot Hand live. Check out Eric Krasno of the band warming up - very very cool!

I know that as musicians, we really don't like the lumping of numerous diverse bands into one consumer-friendly category ("world music", anyone?) In my opinion, the current "Jam Band" scene is a very healthy "group" to be associated with. There is an openness to new and fresh ideas, and an embracing belief in learning your instrument well.

Just look at some of the notable bands: Phish (the former, at least), Moe, Gov't Mule, Medeski, Martin & Wood, Soulive, Umphrey's McGee. The list can go on, but you get the picture.

Not only do these bands have an open mind to music - but as evidenced by Soulive, Moe, Umphrey's and others - an openness to new technology too - as Chuck Garvey, Jake Cinninger and Eric Krasno are currently touring with our Hot Hand Wah Filter and Phaser/Flanger units.

Check out the Umphrey's website for some very hip tunes.

Guitarist par excellance John Scofield praises the "jam band" scene in the January 2008 Guitar Player Magazine - equating the openness to the equally exhuberant bands of the Woodstock era.

I can't wait to hear what many of these artists will do with Hot Hand!
