Hey Everyone!

This is Roger, President of Source Audio.  Sorry I don’t get to the blog more often, but we are always very busy working on pushing the envelope with cool new products so there is not much time left in the day for blogging.  The NAMM show is a highlight for us each year, because we are demonstrating new products and are constantly meeting up with our artist community. Another huge benefit of the show is meeting and making new friends with the many fine players who are thrilled by our products. We are musicians too, and we know what it is like to be excited by innovative tools.

The Soundblox products were a huge hit.  In particular, the Multiwave Distortion blew many minds as we listened to distorted complex cords with intense clarity.  Based on the reaction to this product with about 100 different artists over 6 days, I believe it will become a classic.  Check out the clips on our site in the product section.  We should be shipping production units to our dealers in late March.

We hosted visits from a wide range of artists over the four days, including: Herman Li of Dragonforce, Eric Krasno of Soulive, Carl Harvey of Toots and the Maytals, legendary Dick Dale, Kid Beyond, Jake Cinninger of Umphrey’s McGee, Tim Carmon of Eric Clapton’s band, Chuck Garvey from moe, Jeph Howard of The Used, and many more.

Perhaps the most intense moments for us at NAMM were the live performances.  The first was the set Herman Li played with Joe Satriani at the Ibanez party (to see, click here).  Herman displayed some of the most amazing Hot Hand moves we have seen to date.  His career continues to blossom and he continues to find more innovative ways of integrating Hot Hand into his performances.  The second were 2 performances by Hot Hand artist Fuzz, and his band Rolla, who played at the Hilton and the Marriot.  As NAMM attendees know, these Hotel lobbys tend to get wild each night, and Fuzz’s Hot Hand solos were unreal and whipped the crowds into a frenzy.  I hope to have some clips up on YouTube later today.

The last aspect of NAMM which I will comment on is the fun the Source Audio team has while we are there.  We work the show floor during the day, but we are sure to be catching lots of live music at night (and perhaps a bit of Patron tequila too!).  Brett, Shaheed, Fuzz, Melissa, Daniela, Hunter, Jesse, Todd, and I have worked four NAMM shows together and continue to blend music, work, fun and friendship as it ought to be. Please check back often and thanks for your support!
