I am addicted to Youtube.
As a music fanatic, how could I not?
Look at these great clips that I found, of one of the all time great British bands, the Small Faces: http://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=small+faces&search=
How can you not love these tunes? The craftsmanship of the Beatles, the energy of early Zeppelin, and a vibe of pure optimism through their melodic and wonderful songs.
Steve Mariott, Ronnie Lane, Ian McLagen and Kenny Jones - these guys were the real deal.
And is that a Phaser or Flanger that I hear on the drum fills in "Itchycoo Park"? Goes to show that a great sound effect, strategically placed, on virtually any instrument, can give an extra dollop of delight to a song.
Imagine that fill without the effect - not as compelling, I would venture to say.
What effect can you put on your tunes in a similar fashion? Be bold!
