here's what AudioMidi (http://www.audiomidi.com) had to say about the HotHand on thier website:
"Guitarists -Wave Your Hands In The Air
It's great to see all this new technology bringing guitars into the world of tools that traditionally have been found in keyboards and and other electronic devices and controllers. One very cool guitar stomp box I saw at NAMM was from Source Audio and it is called HotHand. Hot Hand looks and works like a standard stomp box with effects like wah, filter, and modulation -the cool thing is that the rate or variation of the effect is controlled by the gestural movement of your hand. According to Source Audio here is how the device works, "The sensor is actually an accelerometer that senses motion and 'tilt' (the angle of the sensor relative to the earth)". "It will work anywhere, even on your head". It was a completely different experience to create volume swells or wah effects by moving my picking hand while playing guitar. It's kinda like having a Theremin for your guitar.Of course, the really good thing is that you can connect other effects or signals from keyboards and such and use the HotHand to give you new sounds and a new type of control."
And that's not even the new wireless controller - which is way cooler!
here's what Gearwire (http://www.gearwire.com) wrote:
"You know the future has arrived when guitarists can control their wah-wahs and other effects with a wave of the hand. Check out Gearwire's Hot Hand demo video from the NAMM show at Anaheim. What's cool about this is how natural it is, considering your pick hand pretty much always moves in time with the music".
Ever notice how your picking hand does naturally move with the music?
