Don't blame your Grandmother if she knows the answer to what a wah wah is and beats you at a board game.Wikipedia has informed the masses with the inclusion of this entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wah_wah_pedal
And, it's about time I would say. The baby-boomers certainly know what a wah is (we grew up with Clapton and Hendrix), and most certainly the gen-X-er's do as well. So it's time that we pass the torch of wisdom to our parents and perhaps grandparents - who can share with us the knowledge and excitement of what a wah can do.
As the Hot Hand becomes more popular with more recording and performing artists, music fans and musicians will realize that to get fantastic, expressive musical results, you don't have to have the controller housed inside a pedal that anchors the musician one small location on the stage. One can now wear a small controller on a finger, and remain unencumbered by the location of a pedal. You decide where you want to stand or move, and you decide how much sweep each hand movement creates. Total freedom!
