On Tuesday, Roger headed down to NYC to go visit Chuck Garvey of moe. playing at the stage of the Beekman Beer Garden right down on the East River. Rodge caught up with Chuck and he’s still using our Multiwave Distortion to get some great sounds after being one of the first artists to test it out back in ’07.
Chuck has recently been using both the Soundblox Pro Multiwave Distortion and the Programmable EQ pedal on his pedal board. Interestingly enough, he (and Al Schnier of moe.) primarily uses the EQ Pedal to get a clean boost to put his amp into over drive. He actually rarely uses the EQ pedal to change the EQ at all, but is normally just looking for a flat clean boost.
(and yes he did use the talkbox [top right corner] in the first song of the night)
Check out moe. jamming on Sensory Deprivation Bank at the Beer Garden that night:
Chuck was one of the early users of the Hot Hand, and loves some of the crazy sounds he gets using it with the Moogerfooger Ring Modulator. He is psyched to get the new Hot Hand 3 into his rig. ‘The ring that rules them all’ should be perfect for him to use with its built in expression output that lets it work with ANY 3rd party pedal with an expression input. We’ll keep our eye on Chuck to see how he uses the new Hot Hand and if he continues to "freak people out," as he's said he loves doing with the Hot Hand.
