Taking the Hot Hand beyond the guitar

Recently, at Source Audio, we said to ourselves, "Okay...So far it looks like the Hot Hand has really only been used for the guitar, bass and keyboard. Where else can we use it? What about harmonica? Cello? Vocals? How about the flute?"
We were lucky enough to have an answer to that last question in the form of Ragan Whiteside, who I met at Bass Player Live 2009 in Los Angeles. I was fiddling around with the Hot Hand on my bass when it caught her ear (and eye). She searched the building for a flute but it wasn't until three months later at our booth at NAMM that we actually had the chance to try it out. It sounded interesting enough that we met back up with her in our Boston offices and shot a video, jamming to her song "Funktuation".
The result is a video that, thus far, has been our most successful online video to date, reaching approxiamately 2,500 views in 24 hours. So throw on your headphones or turn up your speakers and check out the Hot Hand on the flute featuring yours truly on bass, Greg Settino on the drums, Dennis Johnson on keys, and Ragan Whiteside taking lead.
