If anyone on today's music scene could be the rightful heir to James Browns' vacant title of "The Hardest Working Man in Show Business", it would have to be Michael Franti - leader of Michael Franti's Spearhead. Incessantly touring and making music, Michael discusses some of his other projects including Soles4Souls (his efforts to bring shoes across the world to those who cannot afford them), his recent Grammy nomination, and his recent recording with Sly and Robbie.

Michael's a firm believer in that a great song can have many different cceptable arrangements, and can utilize numerous production techniques - but the song's essence in how well it sits in its most organic and simplistic form: voice, and acoustic guitar or piano. Once that basic structure is there, it is like a tree that can hold any ornament you wish to hang upon it. Good rules that can apply to any genre of music.
Michael's tasteful guitarist, Dave Shul, is a proud Source Audio used (and we are proud to have him on board) and we are glad that he spreads a little sunshine whenever he plays live. And speaking of such, here's a video clip of "The Sound of Sunshine".
